　　The HKUST MSBA program aims to meet the increasing demand for business analytics professionals. 　　The program focuses on teaching students how to make good use of information and business analytics knowledge for building data-driven strategies, enhancing performance and facilitating evidence-based discussion for problem solving. 　　Applicants to the HKUST MSBA are expected to have the following credentials:

　　1. A Relevant First Degree

　　Applicants must possess a bachelor degree in Information Systems, Operations Management, Statistics or related fields, with satisfactory academic performance from a recognized university or approved institution; 背景要求：信息系统、运营管理、统计学及其相关专业

　　2. English Proficiency

　　Applicants whose first language is not English, and whose bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification* was awarded by an institution where the medium of instruction was not English, are required to fulfill the minimum English Language requirements in TOEFL/IELTS examinations.

　　*Qualification with duration equivalent to a full-time bachelor‘s degree (i.e. at least 3 years)

　　3. GMAT/GRE

　　Applicants are highly recommended to take the GMAT/GRE test.强烈建议提交GRE/GMAT

　　4. Work Experience 工作经验

　　For full-time applicants,no minimum work experience is required.However, any relevant work or business experience will add weight to the application under consideration. Applicants for the part-time program should have at least two years of full-time post-qualification relevant work experience.

　　We invite applications from September 2016 onwards for the 2017-18 intake. Admissions operate on a rolling basis. We recommend that non-local applicants apply as early as possible to allow sufficient time for student visa, personal preparation and arrival at Hong Kong. Application deadlines for the 2017-18 intake are as follows:

　　Applicant profiles are reviewed upon full completion of online applications and full payment of application fee. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview.

　　Applicant profiles are reviewed upon full completion of online applications and full payment of the application fee. Scanned copies of academic transcripts, GMAT/GRE offiical score reports and TOEFL/IELTS official score reports are sufficient at the application stage. Applicants will be notified individually for shortlist interview. The original copies of supporting documents are only required if they are being admitted to the program.

　　Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview. We conduct face-to-face interviews with shortlisted applicants residing in Hong Kong where possible. For applicants in other regions, video interviews via the internet are arranged. Phone interview requests are not considered.只有入围的申请人才会被邀请面试，面试采用互联网视频面试。

　　Program Fee & Expenses

　　The total program fee for 2017-18 intake is HK$220,000. The program fee covers tuition and course materials for some of the general core courses and required courses.

　　Travelling and living expenses in Hong Kong are not included in the tuition fee.

　　1. How many intakes are there each year? When does the year start?

　　There is one intake every year. The Fall Term starts in September at the HKUST campus.

　　2. What is the class size?

　　The intake is expected to be around 40-60 students

　　3. Is a minimum GMAT score required for admission?

　　We do not have a minimum score requirement. Applicants’ English ability will also be assessed during a face-to-face interview.

　　4. Can the GMAT/GRE requirement be waived?

　　We highly recommend applicants to take GMAT/GRE. As applicants come from different academic backgrounds, different education institutions, and different countries of origin, the GMAT/GRE score allows us to assess their academic ability to participate in an international program. Extensive research also supports the GMAT/GRE as a consistent measure of how well an applicant will handle postgraduate studies, particularly required courses.

　　If an applicant does not have GMAT or GRE scores, his/her English level will still be assessed during the interview.

　　5. Is a minimum TOEFL/IELTS score required for admission?

　　For TOEFL, a score of 550 (paper test) or 80 (Internet test) is required. For IELTS, a minimum score of 6 is required.

　　6. Is a personal interview required?

　　Yes. A face-to-face interview will be arranged for shortlisted candidates residing in Hong Kong and some major cities in China. Otherwise, video interviews via the Internet are conducted. Phone interview requests are not accepted.
